In late February, Hilton signed and announced three new projects in Southeast Asian cities under the Hilton Garden Inn mid-range hotel chain, including Hilton Garden Inn Hoi'An Tra Que Village (Hoi An, Vietnam), Hilton Garden Inn Kota Kinabalu Tuaran (Malaysia), and Hilton Garden Inn Bali Nusa Dua (Indonesia). This project chain is equivalent to 560 new rooms added to the collection of 28 Hilton Garden Inn hotels globally that are under development and will open in the coming years.

According to Alexandra Murray, regional vice president and regional director of Southeast Asia at Hilton, these countries all attract a large number of tourists and are the driving force for Hilton Garden Inn to build a business strategy focusing on the mid-range traveler segment to serve the growing tourism demand. With the goal of “bringing the brand to the right place at the right time”, Hilton Garden Inn hotels are often built in tourist areas, easy and convenient for tourists to travel.

These three latest projects in Southeast Asia also affirm the great potential of the Southeast Asia region in Hilton's future development strategy, which is always in the midst of fierce competition with other large hotel groups such as Accor or Marriott.
In particular, this will also be a milestone marking Hilton's presence in Hoi An (Vietnam). Hilton Garden Inn Hoi'An Tra Que Village will include 250 rooms, two bars, a restaurant and meeting rooms to serve both tourists and businesses.
Waldorf Astoria Hanoi
Hilton also confirmed its plan to triple the number of its mid-range hotels in the coming years. The group currently has more than 100 hotels under development in Southeast Asia, with many new openings in Vietnam such as the first project under the Curio Collection by Hilton brand in Phu Quoc, Hilton Saigon, and hotels soon to launch include Waldorf Astoria Hanoi, Tapestry Collection by Hilton Hoi An, Hilton Hanoi West and Hilton Garden Inn Mui Ne Beach.
